One of my favorite literary characters is Lucy from The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis. In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Lucy hears Aslan:
No one except Lucy knew that as it circled the mast it had whispered to her, “Courage, dear heart,” and the voice, she felt sure, was Aslan’s, and with the voice a delicious smell breathed in her face.
When I feel like I am facing obstacles that seem bigger than me or when I just need to hear that consistent, encouraging voice, I put on this shirt and hear the gentle whisper of my God, “Courage, dear heart.”
